In 2009 Jim was asked to help support a project I was working on that was based in the AST Torrance, CA office. I had seen him in the hallways occasionally before, but the project gave me the opportunity to become friends besides just colleagues. I was very impressed with his hard work, and his always pleasant attitude. On this project we ended up travelling, usually for a week at a time, to do some testing which gave me the chance to find out that he was one heck of a pool player! During our limited free time we would have a beer and shoot pool, or at least I got to drink beer while he would quickly knock in just about every ball except for one or two balls just to give me a miniscule thought of a chance to hopefully come back and win (really I think he was just thirsty and wanted to get a sip of his beer). I am very happy and honored to have gotten the chance to work with Jim and know him on a personal level. He was a great guy and will be missed by all. - ACW
